What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

This photo of baby monggo was taken yesterday. HE survived the 2 days of no waterning but WITH SUNLIGHT. We learned our lesson and we won't make the same mistake again. Learn from our mistake too! BE A GOOD PARENT TO YOUR PLANT.

And together, we will have a new era of STRONG, MORE RELIABLE, BUT STILL LOVABLE plants. Join the revolution!

Mistakes are lessons learned.

You might be wondering why the title of this post is "Mistakes are lessons learned" it's because WE LEFT BABY MONGGO IN SCHOOL OVER THE WEEKEND.. 2 DAYS OF JUST LEAVING HIM THERE. The photos below show how baby monggo looks like BEFORE we left him. We poured a lot of water just in case. (It has holes below so that the water will not overflow and for excess water to be drained!)

PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW what we did. Plants still need constant care with water and nutrients and of course.. love and care. GOOD NEWS IS.. BABY MONGGO DID NOT DIE. HE STAYED STRONG AND I WILL BE POSTING HIS PHOTO TAKEN YESTERDAY (December 16,2013) Stay tuned! :)

Day 11!!! :)

We do not really label our posts when we post images or updates of baby monggo. So to keep us on track, This is day 11 of baby monggo! WE ARE PROUD PARENTS. But as you can observe, baby monggo has droopy leaves and I guess it's from lack of water because our weather here in Zamboanga is very warm and we have classes so we cannot put too much attention to baby monggo BUT WE ASSURE YOU THAT WE ARE GOING TO RAISE HIM WELL and we hope that you are raising your own plant too!

Thinking minds are working minds

When we experimented baby monggo 1 and 2, there were questions in our head regarding our plants. Someone adviced us to publish it here and answer the questions with research and experience. We thought that you might want to read our questions and answers for you and for all of us to be informed

These are the questions in our mind:
1.) Why did baby monggo 1 (The one we put fertilizer) not grow well/not grow until now? What is the proper time to shower fertilizer to a monggo plant? Were we doing the right process?
We think that the right time to place fertilizer is when the plant has germinated/sprouted already. Seeds do not have enough strength to absorb these fertilizers and maybe that is the cause of why baby monggo 1, died. That is based on our experience. Based on our research, YOU HAVE TO AVOID PUTTING FERTILIZER TO A NEWLY GROWN PLANT/SEED. Now we see where we went wrong. Please be guided! :)

2.) Why is our plant's leaves, droopy? What are we doing wrong?
Based on what I've observed and searched.. The reason for this is THE PLANT IS STRESSED. What do I mean by this? It means that the plant may.. Lack water, Lack nutrients or there is an insect infestation. I also searched that healthy plants should have really green leaves like the color of spinach. So readers, make sure to meet these requirements! :)

These are all our questions so far. feel free to comment and ask!

One of the "DONT's" in planting!

DONT put too much fertilizer specially when the seed hasn't sprouted yet. It doesn't help the plant. Trust us. we tried.. (Photo of baby monggo 1. it didnt grow well. even until now.)

One of the "DO'S" in planting!

DO water your plant EVERYDAY and place it in a place where sunlight can reach. This helps the plant grow!
P.S. that's baby monggo number 2. the one we didn't put too much fertilizer on. It grew well.

KEEP UPDATED ON BABY MONGGO'S LIFE! :)

We created an instragram account where we could post photos and videos of baby monggo and his daily activities together with us, his parents. CLICK ME TO GO TO LINK! :D Likes and followers are appreciated. Spread the plant love guys! :)

A garden requires patient labor and attention. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone expended effort on them.

3 easy steps!

GETTING STARTED

There are just 3 easy steps to get started on planting monggo seeds or simply any plant. BUT be sure to have the basic materials that are needed. Let's get started!

The materials we used were Medium-sized bottle of water (4L), Cutter, Loam soil, monggo seeds.

1st step:
Gather the soil the you will use. LOAM SOIL is recommended.

2nd step:
Cultivate the soil. Be sure to remove the rocks and dried leaves or some unnecessary things that you can find. This will help the plant in the future.

3rd step:
Before you place the seeds in your soil, be sure to test if the seeds aren't damaged. What we did was, we placed the seeds in a container and poured water in it, if the seeds float, it means that they are damaged or cannot germinate.

NOW WE'RE DEFINITELY READY!

The bosses, The Brains, the caretakers, THE ONES BEHIND EVERYTHING.

BEHOLD.. the ones who helped in bringing baby monggo to life. The ones who are raising him until now. The ones who will cater all baby monggo's needs. The ones behind this blog. THE CHOSEN ONES.

The BIRTH.

Plants - Source of our oxygen hence the source of our LIFE.

We are a group of High school students who creatively "gave birth" to Baby Monggo. We had an idea of raising monggo seeds. We raised two for us to compare. And you're gonna see what magic plants can bring.

In this blog, you would be able to learn how to be a good parent to your plant/s. We're going to introduce to you the basic steps of raising a plant, particularly a monggo plant and also some DO's and DONT's. This blog is BOTH educational and fun! ENJOY! :) xx
